It is our vision to continue being the world’s leading coatings and specialty products and services company, serving customers in construction, consumer products, industrial and transportation markets and aftermarkets. PPG has manufacturing facilities and equity affiliates in more than 60 countries around the globe.
Direct Rovings
Hybon® Direct Roving is a single bundle of continuous filaments combined into a discrete strand. The mechanical properties and excellent processing are supported by the chemistry on each strand of fiberglass. The strands offer compatibility with a variety of systems including polyester, vinylester and epoxy resins. Hybon® Direct Roving can be used in processes such as filament winding, multi-axial weaving and pultrusion.
Chopped Fibers
ChopVantage® provides customers with a global portfolio of chopped strands to achieve maximum performance in a variety of resin systems and fabrication processes. Chopped strands are used mainly to reinforce thermoplastics and thermosets. Chopped strands are made by chopping continuous dry or wet strands in 3-6 millimeter lengths depending on the type of strand. Other chopped lengths could be possible after consultation.
Mat & Rovings
PPG multi-end rovings can be used in applications such as weaving, knitting, filament winding and pultrusion. Also, multi-end rovings can be texturized to fill product gaps where mat cannot provide appropriate characteristics.
Yarn
Texturized Yarns – Texturized yarns are continuous single end or multi-end products that have been volumized to provide higher bulk, thickness and coverage per weight than standard filament glass yarns. Products are used primarily in weaving high temperature and filtration fabrics but also find application in many other industrial uses.
Bobbin Yarns/Plied Yarns – Bobbin yarns are manufactured from E-glass with high heat resistance, low moisture absorbency, and superior electrical properties. A single bundle of continuous filaments is twisted per specification to form the twisted yarn strand placed onto a bobbin.
Paper Dry Chop
Dry chop products such as DeltaChop 8610 chopped strand was designed for compatibility with acid white water paper-making systems and has broad application for reinforcing end-users. The fiber diameter enables trouble-free folding in filter paper manufacturing, with no cracking or distortion found in paper for HEPA filter applications.
LFT
Using LFT reinforcements in thermoplastic composite processes enables molders to produce structural or semi-structural parts, compounding the fiberglass in-line with injection molding or compression molding techniques. Using LFT is considered a green product because it takes the weight out of automobiles, resulting in energy conservation.
Mil-tough ICB Panels
Mil-toughâ„¢ ICB Panels are a propriety technology offered by PPG. By using PPG woven roving and reinforcing it with Inorganic Composite Binder (ICB), a blast/ballistic panel is created. These panels allow for weight savings while increasing strength against blasts. The panels can easily be installed in new, retrofit or modular construction. Not only does it offer protection for assets, it also protects the environment by being an inorganic and GREEN material.
Insulation and Processed Fibers
PPG TEXO® HTM Mat – A New Improved High Quality Insulation for Aerospace, Automotive, Construction, Appliance, and Industrial Applications.
PPG TEXO® HTM is a unique needled mat insulation product manufactured from highly resilient fiberglass textile fibers. It is specifically designed for use in aerospace, automotive, construction, and industrial applications.
PPG TEXO® HTM is odorless, fire resistant, and asbestos free. It is a 100% nonwoven E-type fiber glass mat.
PPG Processed Glass Fibers – PPG Processed Glass Fibers are recycled fibers generated from our continuous glass fibers manufacturing operations.
PPG Processed Glass Fibers are manufactured to customer specifications with regard to type of fiber, cut length, and/or opened to allow efficient processing by various types of air lay equipment for fiber mat products and other industrial and commercial products.
